You are now asking yourself, "What is RBI Baseball?"

And the answer, of course, is that it is perhaps the greatest video game ever created.  Created by Namco in the mid 1980s, it first appeared in an arcade form before graduating to the Nintendo Entertainment System.  It may have been available on other systems, but we are not 100% sure of that at this moment.  Needless to say, it reached the pinnacle of its fame on the NES, and there it entered the lives of many people and displayed what could be some of the most comprehensive and advanced technology this fine earth has ever seen.

The RBI Baseball Player of the Week (or Year):

Chet Lemon & Alan Trammell

The award currently goes to a pair of teammates, who both had amazing runs in a series of recent games.

Alan Trammell, the speedy leadoff hitter for Detroit, boasts an impressive .343 average and some cartoon-like speed.  He hit a game-clinching three-run homerun and caused havoc on the base paths.

Chet Lemon is the number 6 hitter for the Tigers.  He's an all around player - he can't quite earn the title of clutch hitter, he can't quite earn the title of strongest or fastest, and he can't quite earn the title of most important.  There are a number of things he can claim, though.  1 - he's got a picture of himself on a canned beverage. 2 - he's got a name which reminds me of the Springfield vs. Shelbyville feud. 3 - he has an uncanny knack for pure production.  Consistently the man was putting up big numbers against the Redsox and the Twins, and would have earned Man of the Match honors if it was a soccer game.

Today, we know Mr. Trammell as the man who fell victim to watching the Tigers that he managed to over a hundred losses only one season ago go on to have the best record in baseball.  Mr. Lemon has recently been seen filling out internet surveys and leading furry conventions (okay, I just made that up).

As it might be noticed, this page barely gets updated (and barely is being generous).  I can only blame the lack of a playing partner in my current household or in my current situation.  It's my fault, for sure, but that's the reason.  One day I hope to have more updates, but until then, we'll all have to suffer in silence.  Big props go to Mike B. for kicking my ass into updating this page...and forcing me into enjoying this game yet again.

Huh???  What's that??? Did you say you wanted to hear some great music?  Well....okay....go here since you asked for it.  I figure this being a former radio show website, the music tie-in with RBI Baseball is only understandable.  And at least it gets updated once in a while...Peace...
